Locally elected and appointed officials voted on the following matters in the past week:
No votes were cast as Congress was not in session.
No votes were cast as the Legislature was not in session.
The Lycoming County commissioners approved a new, fully rewritten county subdivision and land development ordinance, with readable language. Voting in favor were Jeff Wheeland, Ernie Larson and Tony Mussare.
Muncy Borough council voted unanimously to authorize the use of SF & Co., of Harrisburg, to conduct an audit of the borough's 2013 Department of Community and Economic Development annual financial report. The amount will range between $6,000 and $6,500 for the audit, although the gross fee will not exceed $6,500. Council unanimously approved the motion to use the company; voting in favor were Richard Baker, Matilda Noviello, Karen Richards, Elaine McAleer and Linda Stein. Council members Dana Bertin and Edward Feigles were absent.
City Council approved the final reading of an entertainment district ordinance by a vote of 7-0. Voting in favor of the amplified music allowed outside at businesses in the Central Business District, Newberry and Washington Boulevard were President Bill Hall, Bonnie Katz, Liz Miele, Don Noviello, Randall J. Allison and N. Clifford "Skip" Smith.
Muncy School Board voted 9-0 approving revisions to the school district's tobacco use policy to prohibit the use of electronic cigarettes on school property. Voting in favor were Scott McLean, Carla Auten, Mary Bennardi, Scott Johnson, Rhondel Moyle, Lisa Sleboda, Kimberly Spring-Winters, Robert Titman and Sarah Woodward. The board also unanimously approved a resolution that limits any tax increase during the 2014-15 fiscal year to no more than 2.7 percent.
Williamsport Area School Board voted 9-0 to approve presenting its preliminary 2014-15 budget and authorize administration to apply for Act 1 exceptions. Voting in favor were board memebers Lori Baer, Karen Confer, David Stone Jr., Jerene Milliken, Jane Penman, Spencer Sweeting, Nicholas Grimes, Robin Knauth and Chester Peterman.
Montgomery Area School Board voted 8-0 to approve a resolution that limits a tax increase of no more than 0.36 mills when the board begins budget discussions later this year. Voting in favor were Adam Diggan, Jody Budman, Gabriel Blasi, Augustine Spizzirri, Christopher Johnson, Todd Woodling, Paul Stryker Jr. and Todd Baker. Gary Yocum was absent.
Loyalsock Township School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Craig Weaver Sr. as girls varsity softball coach, at a salary of $4,025. Voting in favor were Edward Ade Jr., Maureen Carey, William Carlucci, Stephen Dewar, David Hornberger, Christina Kiessling, John Raymond, Sheila Yates and Paul Young. The board also unanimously approved the purchase of a 3D printer for the district, at a cost of $2,510.
