Gerald Michael Brass, 61, of Bastress, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center after courageously fighting a battle with cancer. He and his wife, Karin R. (Kirsch) Brass, would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this August.
Born Aug. 11, 1952, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Charles and Louise (Vogel) Brass.
Gerald retired from Alcan-Cable as a strander in 2012. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son Christopher S. (Katie) Brass, of Williamsport; three daughters, Lisa L. Brass Ranck, of Bastress, Sabrina R. (Brian) Bustin, of Williamsport, and Karina O. Brass, of Bastress; a sister, Margaret (George) Baier, of Bastress; two brothers Charles (Callie) and Norbert Brass, both of Williamsport; grandchildren, Abigail and Megan Brass, Landon Bustin, and an expected grandson in March; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
