United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. This Wednesday, Becky Pryor, of the Newberry branch of the Needlework Guild of America, will speak about the local chapter of the 100-year-old organization, which provides new clothes for many people in our community who need help moving toward a new tomorrow. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 570-322-1110 to help the caterer know how many to prepare for.
The United Churches telephone devotion line is available 24 hours a day by calling 570-322-5762. The devotionalists this coming week will be Pastors Jim and Kathy Behrens. Kathy is part of the pastoral team at the Wallis Run and Loyalsock United Methodist Charge. Jim is the administrative pastor at the Picture Rocks United Methodist Charge.
