Man accused of heroin use
When paramedics arrived in the 2000 block of West Fourth Street to investigate a report of "a man down" about 8 p.m. on Dec. 13, they found 22-year-old Gary William Colatosti, who was unable able to answer any questions, police said.
Seeing fresh "track marks" on his right arm, paramedics suspected that Colatosti was suffering from a heroin overdose, police said.
Because the man could not even give his own identification, a police officer began going through his wallet, which was hanging out of his back pocket, police said. The officer discovered a packet of heroin in the wallet, police said.
As he was being treated, Colatosti, of 150 Mill St., Trout Run, began to answer questions, police said. He told the paramedics that he had "ingested heroin," police said. He was taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center and later released.
Charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, Colatosti has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge James Carn.
