Doris Mae Guisewhite, 86, of South Williamsport, passed away at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014.
Doris was born at Shamokin, on Nov. 17, 1927. She was the daughter of the late John William and Daisy Mae (Cateheside) Eltringham.
She was a member of Third Street United Methodist Church in Williamsport where she was an organist and Sunday School teacher. Doris was a caregiver who enjoyed camping and being with her family. She was a fabulous organ player who was self taught.
Surviving are her son Ronald (Peggy) Guisewhite, of Williamsport; her three grandsons, John (Leslie) Deming II, of Williamsport, Jason Deming, of Williamsport, Matthew (Laurie) Deming, of Cogan Station; and her granddaughter, Tara (Jason) Aligo, of Lansdale. She is also survived four great-grandsons, Tyler Stradley, of Trout Run, Devon Stradley, of Houston, Texas, Ben Aligo, of Landsdale, Samuel Deming, of Cogan Station; and a great-great-grandson, Beau Stradley, of Trout Run. She was also survived by her son-in-law, Greg Weigle and close friends, Gary and Linda.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Henry Guisewhite; and her daughters, Sharon Carol Sechler, and Kay Weigle.
Memorial services will be held at Third Street United Methodist Church, Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at 7 p.m. with pastor John Baney officiating.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and gathering from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
