Joanne Mae Springman Cratsley, 65, of Montoursville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 22, 2014, at her home surrounded by her children after a courageous 8-month battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 29, 1948, in Williamsport, the daughter of the late William and Elsie E. (Hakes) Springman.
Joanne retired from Hope Enterprise in 2010 after 14 years as a caregiver at the Palmer Hill Home. She loved her girls as if they were her own family.
She loved Jesus and attended Victory Church in Troy, Pa., when she was well enough to go.
Joanne loved having big picnics with family and friends, flower gardening, knitting and fishing.
She is survived by one sister, Niomi Bonnie Weller; special friend, Fred Stagert and best friend, Nancy Whitenite; six children, Kim (Jim) Bloom, of Ralston, David (Missy) Whitenite, of Montoursville, Donald (Elya) Whitenite, of Williamsport, Lisa (Ed Bubb) Hamm, Charlene (Chad) Kerwell and Charles Cratsley, all of Montoursville; five grandchildren, Salena Sherwood, Austin and Amyia Kerwell, Brittney and Kayla Whitenite; four step-grandchildren, Manni, Monic, Maryia and Tammeka; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Joanne's Life Celebration memorial services will be held at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," located on 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday Feb. 28, 2014, with a service following.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations that are to be made to the family be sent to the funeral home to help defray any funeral expenses.
