Mary Ann Wertman, 78, of Loyalsock Township, died March 11, 2014 at her home.
She was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Utica, N.Y., the daughter of Seldon W. and Amy Mortimer Gerrish.
Mary Ann retired as a math and computer science teacher from Loyalsock Township School District. She was a member of Northway Presbyterian Church, enjoyed sewing, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved spending time at Moosehead Lake in Maine.

Preceding her were her parents and her first husband, Dr. David H. Frederick.
Surviving are her husband of 23 years, Byron M. Wertman; a son, Dr. Brian G. (Barbara) Frederick, of Orono, Maine; a daughter, Rachel A. (Dr. Scott) Kopec, of Princeton, Mass.; a sister Eleanor (Rev. John) Brewster, of The Villages, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Private First Class Marine, David, and Nathan Frederick, and Abigail, Amy, and Acadia Kopec.
There will be a funeral service 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 15 at Northway Presbyterian Church, 1520 Northway Road, Williamsport, with Rev. Ken Woods-Henderson officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Oriskany Cemetery in Oriskany, N.Y.
