James I. Beaver, 70, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Rose View Center.
He was born Oct 31, 1943, in Avis, the son of Charles S. and Ethel (Hendricks) Beaver.
James is an U.S. Army veteran.
He retired in 1999 from the U.S. Postal Service where he was a truck driver.
James enjoyed working with wood and watching NASCAR. He loved to hunt, fish, listen to music and watch old western movies.
He is survived by three daughters, Brenda L. (William J.) Steppe, of South Williamsport, Marcia L. Beaver, of Avis and Alicia M. (Randy) Martin, of Enola; five brothers, Calvin Beaver, of Lock Haven, George (Sandy) Beaver, of Pine Creek, Lehman Beaver, of Cogan Station, John (Donna) Beaver, of Mill Hall and Donnie (Shirley) Beaver, of Gainesville, Va.; two sisters, Wanda Decker and Phyllis Lockcuff, both of Woolrich; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
James was predeceased by a brother, Clyde Beaver.
Relatives and friends are invited to James' Life Celebration Memorial service 4 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with Don Lomison officiating. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
