Loyalsock Township Middle School recently announced the winners of their seventh-grade writing contest.
One hundred and twenty-six students entered the contest, which required them to compose a letter to the writer of their favorite song, short story, book, movie script, poem or speech, explaining how the writing inspires them or has touched their lives in some way.
Along with the seventh-grade contest, students also had the option to enter a state and national competition. Victoria Krout, seventh-grade language arts teacher and coordinator of the writing project, provided this opportunity for her students to present them with the chance to be evaluated by authentic audiences at local, regional and national levels. Kiana Roque was named as the grand prize winner
