William "Bill" N. Moon Sr., 85, of Cogan Station, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at his home.
Born April 6, 1928, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Charles and Harriet (Newcomer) Moon. Bill and his wife, Shirley (Carson) Moon, were married 67 years.
Bill owned and operated Bill's Tire Shop for 29 years. He had a fruit stand on Lycoming Creek Road. He previously worked for Caprio Saw Mill then Frey's Tire Shop. He was a lifetime member of the Trout Run Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife; five children, Norma (Danie) Smith, of Trout Run, Donald (Vicky) Moon, of Coudersport, Barry (Ginger) Moon, of Montoursville, Shelly (Floyd) Bilbay, of Cogan Station, and William Jr. (Linda) Moon, of Lock Haven; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ella Easton, of Rose Valley.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; seven brothers; and seven sisters.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 1877 St. Michael's Road, Cogan Station. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery. A viewing will be held 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
