Bertha Stryker Braunbeck, 95, of Loyalsock Township, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014, at The Meadows.
She was born on March 20, 1919, at home on the family farm in Eldred Township. Bertha was the oldest daughter of LeRoy and Grace Evans Loudenslager.
Bertha was a member of Mill Creek Methodist Church and was an active member in the Ladies Circle. She volunteered for many years at Sycamore Manor and Valley View Nursing Home. Bertha enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, rock collecting, reading and being outdoors. She valued time spent with family and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul R. Stryker and Elmer Braunbeck and seven siblings.
Surviving is a son, Paul E. (Joan) Stryker, of Milton; daughter, Dr. Judith M. Stryker, of Royersford; her youngest sister, Irene (Joe) Miller, of Jersey Shore; three grandchildren, Tammy Taylor, Christine Ulrich and Paul Stryker Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Marie E. Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
