MONTGOMERY - The borough's first-ever Second Saturday is just hours away.
"We're calling it our Spring Fling," said Tina Tickle, a member of Revitalize Montgomery, a local group that supports the borough and its businesses and events.
The inaugural event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street and at Heritage Park, just off West Houston Ave. behind the borough building along Black Hole Creek.
"We're hoping for a great turnout," said Shawn Gawblick, a member of Revitalize Montgomery.
Businesses on Main Street will hold open houses and there will be vendors in the park, musicians, including a clarinet quartet at 1 p.m. and a miniature pony petting, name the pony contest and a lessons such as how to use a life jacket, Tickle said.
More than 10 vendors have registered. If successful, the group is making efforts to plan a similar event on the second Saturday of each month during nice weather, Tickle said.
