MANSFIELD - Sew and So, a new alteration shop that also offers sewing classes and more, opened here last month.
Proprietor Cyndi Compton said she always has enjoyed sewing and after her job at the university was phased out due to lack of funding, she decided to take the plunge and do something she has always wanted to do - open her own business.
She says her grandmother taught her to sew, and she loved making clothes for her sisters.

Compton also will replace zippers in pants and skirts, shirts, sweaters and both adults and children's jackets and coats, put in or take out pockets, taper legs on pants, shorten pants with linings or hem pants.
