Elizabeth M. Hartranft, 95, of Frederick Drive, Watsontown, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014, at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation where she had been residing.
Born July 13, 1918, in Delaware Township, Northumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Fred S. Sr., and Blanche M. (Miller) McCormick.
She was married to George W. Hartranft until his death in 1999.
She was a 1936 graduate of Watsontown High School and spent most of her working years at the former Philco-Ford Corp., Watsontown, and was a bus driver for many years for the Warrior Run School District.
A former member of Muncy Presbyterian Church, she was currently a member of Washington Presbyterian Church, Allenwood.
She was a member of the Watsontown Guild, loved gardening, baking and helping others.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis W. and Carol Hartranft of Catawissa; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mary Elizabeth and Larry Paulson of Elgin, IL; JoAnn and Bradley Hengst of Jacobs, Pa.; five grandchildren: Noelle Paulson, Ian Hengst, Janel Brooker, Nicholas and Kristina Hartranft; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred S. McCormick, Jr. of Allenwood; and a sister, M. Henrietta Ulrich of Watsontown.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was a son, G. Richard Hartranft in 1961; a sister, Margaret Baker; and three brothers Oscar, Charles and Clifford McCormick.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday. Burial will follow in Delaware Run Cemetery, Musser Lane, Watsontown.
