Ninety-percent of all high handicap golfers grip the club incorrectly.
The Vs formed by the index fingers and thumbs should point to the right shoulder area for the right-hand golfer and to the left shoulder for the left-hand golfer.
Turning the V's more to the right (to the left for the left-hand golfer) will cause the ball to draw or hook. A golfer should see one to two knuckles on the left hand, right hand for the left-handed golfer.
Every golfer is different so he should experiment to create the ball flight he desires. The Vs should never point to the left of the right cheek for a right-handed golfer and right of the right cheek for a left-handed golfer. A good start is to see two knuckles of the left hand for a right-handed golfer and two knuckles of the right hand for a left-handed golfer.
Don't forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
