April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Pinwheels for Prevention is a national campaign sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse America, whose mission is “to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation’s children, and Geisinger Medical Center’s “Pinwheels for Prevention” garden, above, is designed to create public awareness for the victim’s victims of child abuse in the region. Shown, from left, are Sherry Moroz, a forensic interviewer; Melissa DeBaro, coordinator; and Jenny Shroyer, victim advocate — all of the Child Advocacy Center of the Central Susquehanna Valley, a division of Geisinger Health System’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. They joined with other Geisinger employees and members of Danville Scout troops to “plant” 435 “Pinwheels for Prevention” in front of Geisinger Medical Center April 16.
