LEWISBURG - The walls are coming down.
Earlier this month, contractors were demolishing the former nursing care center on the campus of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village along Fairground Road.
The building, replaced late last year with a $16.2 million health care center, served as the village's nursing care center since the 1970s. The area will be used for parking.
From left, Kathryn Miller, sales and marketing manager for health care at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village; Robert Musser, village executive director; and John Joe, of the village’s facilities management department, watch the demolition of the Lewisburg village's former nursing care center.
The new health care center features a neighborhood-concept design in which residents live and eat in small clustered "neighborhoods" within the building.
