MUNCY - Dad's Woodshop specializes in custom-ordered wood furnishings and items.
Located at 100 N. Main St., it was started by Dean Snyder III last November. Snyder runs the business with his wife, Jen, who adds her own special artistic touch to many of the wood pieces.
"I do all the finishing and painting," she said.

Dean Snyder said he will create just about anything from wood.
"People come in and tell me what they want," he said.
Tables, beds, entertainment stands, gun racks and furniture are just a few of the objects and furnishings he's created and which appear in his showroom. His turn-around time is usually no more than a week.

"They (customers) show him a picture," Jen said. "He just works off the top of his head."
Added Dean: "That's the way I've always done it."
He said he tries to buy his lumber cheap and recycles a lot of his wood.
"We usually don't throw anything away," Jen said.
Dean has been woodworking for much of his life, but more as a hobby. He also owns and operates a commercial crating company. But he's pleased, he said, with how well the woodworking business has been doing.
"It's turned out pretty much to be a full-time business," he said.
He said he got his woodworking skills from his father. Five percent of all his proceeds from the business go toward the American Cancer Society. Two of his grandparents died from the disease and donating to that organization is his way of honoring them, he said. A lot of his customers come to him through word of mouth.
"We put up some fliers. We have a Facebook page, he said.
He likes the location just north of downtown Muncy and near his residence. Hours are 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
