John "Paul" Hartsock, 74, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Jersey Shore Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1940, in Lock Haven, a son of Boyd S. and Della May (Delaney-Brown) Hartsock.
John was a member of the BPOE No. 1057 and American Legion Post No. 36.
He loved animals, nature and outdoors. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, crossword puzzles and classic western movies.
John was an avid Penn State football fan.
He is survived by a daughter, Kelley (David) Butler. of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Dan Brown, of Linden; two sisters, Gretchen Brown, of Lock Haven and Mary Lynn Overdorf, of Jersey Shore; and a grandson, Noah Butler, of Raleigh, N.C.
John was predeceased by a sister, Joan Hillyard.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
Services and burial are being held privately at the convenience of his family.
Arrangements were handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
