Good samaritans 2

Ronald Kerstetter, former Lewisburg police chief, looks on as daughter Amy Brown, of West Milton, donates blood at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on April 15. After several heart attacks, the Northumberland resident — two years to this date — received a heart transplant from donor Tom Edelstein. Not only is Kerstetter eternally grateful to the Edelstein family for this gesture, but he also credits blood supplier Geisinger Blood Center for providing blood that he needed for post-operative transfusions. The GBC blood drive held in his honor recently allowed his daughter to say “thanks” in the best way possible — by donating blood.
