HARRISBURG - The office of Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) is hosting a display of pottery and ceramic art by Muncy artist Kathy Sterngold. The office is located in Room 430, Irvis Office Building in the state Capitol complex
"Kathy is a well-known local artist who makes beautiful ceramic sculptures and several styles of pottery, ranging from large pine cone platters to coffee mugs and hen-and-chick planters," Everett said. "We are blessed to have many talented artists in the district and I hope residents who are in the area can stop by to see these works."
Everett said Sterngold has participated in several art shows and exhibits, including annual events in Muncy, State College, Lewisburg, Williamsport and Eagles Mere.
Muncy artist Kathy Sterngold, shown with her work, has ceramic work and pottery on display at the office of Rep. Garth Everett in Harrisburg.
Her work has been shown at the Packwood House Museum, the State Museum of Pennsylvania, the Lycoming College Art Gallery and the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen Studio in Bushkill Falls. Each fall, she presents her latest creations at the Muncy Historical Society Annual Art Exhibition.
In addition, Sterngold's work was exhibited at the Pennsylvania Governor's Art Awards Ceremony and at the opening of The Community Arts Center.
Each year, Sterngold and her students make stoneware bowls for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank's fund raising events in Williamsport and Harrisburg. Last year, she was commissioned to create a new line of commemorative bowls bearing the food bank's logo and mission.
