The Williamsport Flute Choir will present its second annual spring recital at 2 p.m. Friday at Robert M. Sides, 201 Mulberry St.
Formed January of 2013, The flute choir started with eight members and has grown over the past year to nearly double that.
Featuring members of the flute family from piccolo all the way down to the bass flute, the Williamsport Flute Choir has been performing varied repertoire throughout the Williamsport area since their formation.
This recital program offers a large variety to suit all musical tastes. The program will open with the overture from Mozart's opera, "The Magic Flute" and will include the "Baroque Hoedown," which many will recognize as the theme from Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade; the lively "Comedian's Galop" by Kabalevsky; the novelty piece "The Whistler and His Dog" by Arthur Pryor; and a short three movement work titled "Piccolos in the Pub," by Jonathan Cohen, among several other works.
Admission to the recital is free but donations will be accepted. A brief reception will follow.
