LEWISBURG - Bucknell University's 12th annual "spring thaw out" event was held in April.
"Despite the chilly temperatures and scattered showers, nearly 135 volunteers participated at approximately 15 sites," said Lynn Pierson, assistant director of community service with the office of civic engagement at Bucknell.
"This event engages our Bucknell students and local businesses and agencies with spring cleaning tasks including mulching, planting, painting, cleaning, landscaping and other indoor and outdoor jobs," she said.

Some of the local agencies and businesses included Lewisburg Community Garden, Donald Heiter Community Center, Slifer House and Trey Casmir Acupuncture and Exercise.
