The ninth annual cane pole fishing derby will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 26 at Rose Valley Lake.
The free derby is geared toward those younger than 16, but all are eligible. Licenses are not required because May 26 is a Fish-for-Free day.
It is sponsored by the Rose Valley/Mill Creek Watershed Association.

Anglers must use an official watershed association cane pole. Fishing packages that include a pole, fishing line, hooks, bobber, bait and instructions.
The first 125 people to register will receive an embroidered, collectible patch.
Prizes will be awarded for fish caught and for litter collected. To register, call Jerry Zeidler at 570-435-4506.
