SALLADASBURG - The Salladasburg annual Memorial Day parade will start at 11 a.m. on May 26.
Those wishing to participate in the parade should meet on Dochter Street between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. The Jersey Shore Area High School band will lead the parade. Local fire trucks, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, patriotic floats, vintage cars, farm tractors and horses are some of the parade entrants.
Immediately following the parade there will be a ceremony in front of the Salladasburg United Methodist Church.
The ceremony will end with the invocation from the Rev. Kevin Brophy. Susan Barrows will sing the national anthem and Dr. Daniel J. Glunk will recite the Gettysburg Address. Mayor Douglas Ellsworth will then read the roll call of the deceased veterans.
The ceremony will close with the playing of taps and a gun salute by a local veterans group.
