JERSEY SHORE - Needing to satisfy their heroin addiction, Trista A. Myers, 21, of 35 Van Burden Road, and Dylan E. Siddle, also 21, whose last known address was of the 1300 block of Walnut St., stole an Xbox 360 and a controller unit, which they traded for the controlled substance, according to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional police.
The two stole the items from Tera Bertin while they were house guests at Bertin's home in late March, police said.
Siddle already has been arrested and jailed. Myers was arraigned earlier this month before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on charges of theft and receiving stolen property, and remains jailed with Siddle in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Access device fraud alleged in city
Tracy Lynn Geyer, 39, of Lock Haven, faces two counts of access device fraud for twice allegedly using a stolen credit card at Family Recovery Solutions, 1101 E. Third St., according to city police.
Police said Geyer allegedly stole Michael Hall's debit card while at his home in late January, according to court records.
Geyer used the card to make two $140 payments to Family Recovery Solutions, one on Feb. 4 and another on Feb. 18, police said.
Geyer recently was arraigned before District Judge Allen P. Page III and released on $2,500 bail.
Police allege shoplifting of 4 people
Four people have been charged by various police departments with shoplifting. Those charged and the police departments involved were:
Brian James Williams, 28, of Rochester, N.Y.; Montoursville police; misdemeanor shoplifting and receiving stolen property at Wal-Mart, 1015 N. Loyalsock Ave., on May 10; the value of the merchandise was not listed but was identified as nine DVDs; free on $15,000 bail.
Chelsy Lynn Bird, 21, of 1735 Four Mile Drive; Old Lycoming Township police; misdemeanor shoplifting and receiving stolen property at Dollar General, 2062 Lycoming Creek Road, on May 1; the value of the merchandise was $26; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
Kelli A. McCloskey, 26, of 47 Willits Road, Jersey Shore; city police; felony shoplifting and receiving stolen property at Wegmans, 201 William St., on May 2; the value of the merchandise $14; released on $7,500 bail; has at least two prior shoplifting convictions.
Leroy D. Starr Jr., 20, of 2450 Ritchey St.; city police; misdemeanor shoplifting and receiving stolen property as a result of two incidents at Kohl's, 251 William St.; one on Sept. 16 and another three days later; total value of merchandise was $169; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
2 face assault charges in separate cases
Bernard Anthony Daniels, 29, of 648 Cemetery St., has been charged for allegedly punching another man in the face, causing injuries that required two dozen stitches, city police said.
Police allege Daniels punched Raymond Gibbs about 1:30 p.m. on March 4 in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue.
Gibbs was treated at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Charged with simple assault and harassment, Daniels failed to appear for his preliminary hearing before District Judge James Carn. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
He since has been committed to the Lycoming County Prison, according to public records.
In another assault case, this one in Old Lycoming Township, Barnard Alfred Kahn V, 20, of 255 Phillips Hill Drive, has been charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly punching his father, Barnard IV, in the face at the home they share on April 6, police said.
The son has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge James Sortman.
