Marguerite E. Berrigan, 96, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Sycamore Manor Health Center, Montoursville.
She was born in Williamsport on December 14, 1917, the daughter of William and Evelyn Richards Orner.
Marguerite was a homemaker and a member of St Boniface Catholic Church, the church's first Parish Council and was secretary of the Catholic Women's Union.
She enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle, crocheting, cooking but most of all she loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marguerite is survived by her children; Andrew A. Jr., of Punta Gorda Fla., Mary Dawes, of Williamsport, Thomas A., of Lemoyne, Anna Steinbacher, of Lairdsville, Eileen Reid, of Williamsport, Richard, of Williamsport, and Kathleen Berrigan, of Reston, Va; 28 grandchildren; and 58 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husand, Andrew A. Berrigan; a daughter, Margaret Baillargeon; a son, Dennis; four sisters; and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, on Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. with her pastor, Monsignor Stephen McGough, officiating.
Friends may call at the church lounge on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery and memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the St. John Neumann Regional Academy 901 Penn Street Williamsport, Pa. 17701.
