Richard R. Dincher, a resident of Williamsport, passed away peacefully at Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit on Friday, May 23, 2014.
Born March 7, 1929, in Williamsport, he was the son of Joseph and Florence (Gaus) Dincher.
Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane T. (Eck) Dincher. He was a lifetime member of Saint Boniface Church, and he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by three sons, Christopher (Rose Marie), Robert (Mary), and Gary (Patty), of Williamsport, and one daughter, Ann (Tim), of Virginia. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition, Richard is survived by one brother, Father Carl Dincher, S.J., of India; two sisters, Barbara Shurer, of Williamsport and Mary Jo Murray, of Florida; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Dincher. A brother, Louis preceded him in death.
Richard worked for many years as a butcher as well as a wallpaperer and a painter. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26, at Saint Boniface Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport. His pastor, Msgr. Stephen McGouch, will officiate.
