William W. Bennett, 90, of Jersey Shore, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1924, in Jersey Shore, he was a son to the late Forrest Bennett and the former Anna Haines.
Earlier in his life he was employed by Capital Industries and later was a self employed contractor and worked for Crystal Beverage. He was a life member of the Jersey Shore V.F.W. and the Avis American Legion. During World War II Bill honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy from March 23, 1943, until Jan. 5, 1946. Surviving are three sons, William T. Bennett, Scott J. (Mary Jane) Bennett, and Richard L. (Mary) Bennett, all of Jersey Shore; two daughters, Patricia A. (Thomas) O'Dell, of Avis and Gloria L. (Sam) DeParasis, of Jersey Shore; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Memorial services will be Friday June 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 174 Mount Pleasant Ave., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services in the church. The Rev. Veronica Donohue Chappell will officiate.
Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
