MANSFIELD - Colt A. Turner, 29, of 350 N. Main St., was charged by borough police following a fight at his residence recently.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, police were dispatched to his residence on June 7 for a fight in progress.
Police said Turner and several others were drinking at the residence when Turner's girlfriend said something to him that "set him off."
Another man, Sean Frame took the girlfriend upstairs to the tub where she vomited and stayed with her there. Turner then made his way to the bathroom and started attacking his girlfriend, and Frame tried to stop him.
Frame ended up being attacked himself by Turner, who hit him multiple times, causing marks and scratches, and placed him in a chokehold tight enough to cause strangulation marks around his neck, police said.
Then after they put him in the patrol car, he hit his head on the rear window repeatedly, anddamaged property belonging to Dan Kerzejewski, the owner of the apartment by placing holes in the wall and bathroom door, police said.
Turner was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief and jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
His preliminary hearing was set for June 18.
