I have been reading with interest all of the news articles and editorials regarding the VA medical scandal. I agree that this is abhorrent treatment of our Veterans. However, this is not the only way that the VA is ignoring our veterans! My father is a 90 year old WWII veteran and has applied for a VA pension to assist with his living expenses well over a year ago. If you have never dealt with the VA, count your blessings! The VA has messed up his paperwork multiple times and each time they do, he has to start all over. Every time we call to check on the status it is "still in process". Personally, I believe that the VA knows the age of our WWII veterans and knows if they delay long enough, there will no longer be a need! For sure if these Veterans from "The Greatest Generation" had handled their duties with the efficiency of the VA, the VA's offices would be in Tokyo or Berlin!
