If I may, I would like to address the young man who took issue with the letter that said President Obama is buying the votes of the poor.
He reminded the letter's author that the election is over and that Mr. Obama isn't soliciting votes, as he cannot be elected again.
That is true.
However, keep in mind that President Obama is a team player, and as such he wishes to insure that his team, the Democratic Party, will be in power for years to come.
This would give him a sense of redemption and vindication and would make it more likely that any policies left unfinished, as well as any desirable judicial appointments, would be brought to fruition by future administrations.
No, the initial letter writer is not "out of touch," as you suggest.
