An undercover investigation led to the arrest of a man selling heroin.
The Lycoming County District Attorney's office is charging Quaran Haddin Geddy, 18, of 419 Louisa St., with felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.
An informant for the office set up a controlled buy with Geddy on June 4 in the area of Hepburn and Louisa streets. The informant used $100 of pre-recorded funds to purchase 10 glassine bags of heroin from Geddy, according to court documents.
The informant set up another meeting with Geddy on Friday, during which officers attempted to take Geddy into custody. Geddy fled from police, but later was located and seen trying to bury a cellphone, an affidavit said.
Police arrested Geddy and searched his person, finding several wads of money in his pockets.
Geddy was transported to the city police station where officers called the cellphone number used to negotiate the heroin deals in the controlled buy and reached the phone found in Geddy's possession.
Geddy was arraigned before Judge Gary A. Whiteman and jailed in lieu of a $150,000 bail.
