Locally elected and appointed officials voted on the following matters in the past week:
Lycoming County commissioners voted 3-0 to approve a zoning map amendment that affects McIntyre, McHenry, Bastress and Limestone townships. The amendment rezoned several properties in McIntyre township from "rural center" use to "countryside," which allows for light industry. In McHenry Township, an area along Route 414 was rezoned to prevent natural gas drilling. Both Bastress and Limestone townships joined the county's zoning partnership as a result of the amendment, relieving the township's of zoning responsibilities. Voting yes were Commissioners Jeff Wheeland, Tony Mussare and Ernest Larson.
City Planning Commission voted to recommend certificates of appropriateness for a dog kennnel/groomer at 41 W. Fourth St. and for an elevator at the Salvation Army, 457 Market St.
