Lewis C. "Lew" Nevill, 80, of Shiffler Ave., Williamsport, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones, following an extended illness.
Born in the Newberry section of Williamsport, Lew was a son of Carl and Theresa (Cassidy) Nevill.
He was a graduate of Williamsport High School. Lew was employed by A&P Tea Company for 25 years and retired from CA Reed. He was a member of St. Boniface Church and an active member in the church choir for years. He served as a Eucharist minister. Lew was a member of the Gesang Verein Harmonia Club and an avid Notre Dame football fan.
Surviving are his wife, Helen (Bashnick) Nevill, who he was married to for 55 years; three children, Karen Nevill Spaar, of San Diego, Calif., Mark Nevill (Christine) of South Williamsport; and Kimberly Nevill Kuna (Joseph Jr.), of Williamsport; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Francis Nevill, of Southampton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Nevill and a sister, Connie Koren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. A viewing will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
