William E. Reighard Sr., 83, of Loyalsock Township, died on July 9, 2014, at Sycamore Manor.
He was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Jersey Shore, the son of Clyde L. and Helen C. Lentz Reighard.
He retired as a lineman for PPL and was owner/operator of Reighard Electric with his two sons. He served in the Navy Reserves, was a life member and past chief of Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Fireman's Association, and New Hope United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.
William had a very active and productive life. He broke horses at the age of 12 and raced stock cars in Selinsgrove, Port Royal, and Riverview. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and taking care of neighbors and helped anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Mary Lou Heiny.
Surviving him are Rosalie Reighard; three children; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his extended family, the Rockeys, of Pleasant Gap.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday.
