Ramona Jean Kiefer, 80, a former Antes Fort resident and most recently a seven year resident of Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont, passed away.
On July 7, 2014, God opened the cell door of the prison of Alzheimer's and welcomed her home.
She was born Oct. 1, 1933, in Clearfield, the daughter of James and Esther (Kable) Foster.
Ramona was a graduate of the Clearfield High School.
She was a member of the Antes Fort United Methodist Church.
After raising her two sons, she became a CNA and worked as one until retirement.
Before moving to Antes Fort in 1992, she spent many years as a resident of Windham Township, Bradford County.
Ramona was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Windham Township Volunteer Fire Co.
In her teenage years, she was a big fan of the movie stars of that era. But her biggest joy was going to the cabin with her family. Ramona was gifted in crocheting and got much praise for her work.
Being the oldest of 10 siblings, Ramona never lost her desire to be the mother to one and all.
Ramona is survived by her devoted family, husband, George Kiefer, of Antes Fort; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Karen Askey, of Parker, Colo., Bruce and Jean Askey, of Elmira, N.Y.; two brothers, Fred Foster, of Cogan Station, John Foster, of Muncy; four sisters, Amy Cowher, of Rauchtown, Sheila Fox, of Williamsport, Carolyn Hunt, of Woodland and Carol Lumadue, of West Decatur; and four grandchildren, James and Joseph, of Parker, Colo. and Amanda and Joshua, of Elmira, N.Y.
Preceding her in death were four brothers, Jack, James, Arthur and Kenneth Foster.
Ramona's Life Celebration will be at noon Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Antes Fort United Methodist Church with Rev. Stevan Atanasoff officiating. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon at the church. The interment will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Valley Home Cemetery, Windham, Bradford County.
