Henry W. Durrwachter II, 82, of Chambersburg, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born May 31, 1932, in Jersey Shore, he was the son to the late Henry W. and Aurelia Durrwachter.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Peggy A. Yeager, who were united in marriage Dec. 25, 1952, in Antes Fort, and four nephews.

Hennie worked for many of his teenage years in the family Bakery business in Jersey Shore. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was stationed in Mississippi and Texas during the Korean War time period.
In 1959, he attend Penn State University for four years and graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He started working for HRB Singer after college and worked for them until early retirement in 1984. While at HRB Singer, his work took him numerous times to Singapore and other Far East countries.
Hennie lived a majority of his married years in State College, and then the last 10 years in Chambersburg. He spent many years training and traveling about the state showing his Labrador retrievers. Hennie and Peggy were avid cross country skiers and this hobby took them to Germany after retirement for a week of skiing in the German Alps. He was a long time Penn State alumni sports enthusiast, attending a large majority of the Penn State football games for over 40 years.
A funeral service will be held noon Monday, July 28, 2014, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
