Donald R. Wilson, 70, of Muncy, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at his home.
Born Sept. 8, 1943, in Plainfield, N.J., he was a son of the late Harold and Dorothy VanFleet Wilson.
Donald retired from Queen City Pontiac, Greenbrook, N.J., after having worked there for over 30 years. He attended the East End Baptist Church, Williamsport, and was a social member of the American Legion Post 35, Hughesville.
Donald was a very gifted individual who could fix nearly anything, and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Dale Earnhardt Sr. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping and above all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving, are three daughters, Teresa L. (David Weiss) Wilson, of New Jersey, Michelle A. Wilson, of Montoursville and Debra L. (Wesley) Boyer, of Unityville; a sister, Georgeann Cardinal, of New Jersey; two brothers, George (Carol) Wilson and Raymond (Harriet) Wilson, both of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Paige Wilson, whom he raised, James Ryan, Megan Yarish, Donald Ryan, Robert Ryan, Ashley Beatty, Wesley Boyer Jr. and Stephen Glossick; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Yarish and Brooke Ryan; and his companion, Rhonda Knopp Wilson, of Muncy.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Judith Ann Wilson; a sister, Betty Calvi; and a granddaughter, Madison Glossick.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor Calvin F. Phillips officiating. Burial will be held in Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook, N.J. on Friday, Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
