Hit and run alleged
RICHMOND TOWNSHIP - A man is accused of driving recklessly on Route 2005 in Richmond Township.
Dustin Lockwood, 23, of 210 Connley Mountain Road, Mainesburg, was found in a damaged red minivan after police responded to a report of a hit and run crash made by Linda Lee Blasz, according to an affidavit.
Blasz allegedly told the police she had been rear ended by a red minivan, while waiting to make a left turn.
While interviewing Blasz, State Trooper Richard Chiodo was informed that the red minivan was disabled nearby.
According to police, Lockwood said he blacked out and could not remember the crash, but later said his accelerator had become stuck and he could not stop.
When asked for his driver's license, Lockwood allegedly claimed to having never had a driver's license.
Lockwood was sent a summons for a preliminary hearing before District Judge James E Carlson on Aug. 27.
Man charged with harassment, assault
BLOSSBURG - Martin Thomas Sherwood IV, 27, of 141 Taber St., was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting a women he lives with.
On Aug. 3, Ashley Melady, 26, called borough police after Sherwood, her roommate, began to yell in her face, according to an affidavit.
After she called the police, Sherwood allegedly grabbed Melady's arms, pushed her against the wall and started yelling in her face again.
When interviewed Melady said she and Sherwood live together and have two children but are no longer in a relationship.
Police said that Sherwood smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking that night.
Sherwood was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct and was remanded to the Tioga County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing before District Judge James E. Carlson is scheduled for Aug. 13.
