Two sets of charges have been filed against Elmira, New York, parolee David Roy Guisewhite, according to court records.
In one case, Guisewhite, 54, has been charged with breaking into Puff's Discount and Cigarette Store, 2065 Lycoming Creek Road, overnight June 7, according to Old Lycoming Township police. An estimated $8,900 worth of cigarettes were stolen in the burglary, police said.
Township police charged him last week with burglary, felony trespassing, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. Following his arraignment before District Judge James H. Sortman, Guisewhite was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Already on parole for burglary, Guisewhite also has been charged by Muncy police with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a large garbage can from the Muncy Laundromat, 150 W. Water St., on June 6.
Arraigned on these charges before District Judge Jon E. Kemp, Guisewhite was recommitted in lieu of an additional $5,000 bail.
