While attending Williamsport Welcomes the World, my daughter and I were impressed with the young musicians on stage, but shocked to see a carnival game giving away live animals.
Birds, Guinea pigs, mice and several other animals waiting to go home in a cardboard box with someone ill prepared to care for it. This maybe common at carnivals, but is this the type of atmosphere that is appropriate for Welcoming the World?
Why not have local charities raise money with appropriate games?
The city is coming back with several new shops, restaurants and galleries.
People are working very hard to make it happen.
It is time to improve the quality of the events by jurying the vendors you place on the streets.
This is a simple process that will greatly improve the event.
