Marjorie W. Smith, 93, of Lock Haven, formerly of Clymer, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at her daughter's home in Williamsport.
Born June 12, 1921, in Snow Shoe, she was the daughter of George B and Margaret A. (Shaw) Watson.
Marjorie was a life time member of Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 20 years and also a deacon.
She was a graduate of Penn's Manor High School in Clymer, received her bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and post-graduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Marjorie began her teaching career at Penn's Manor Elementary where she met her husband and spent most of her years teaching for Jersey Shore School District. She retired after 47 years of service. She was an avid Penn State Football fan and season ticket holder for over 30 years. She was a devoted teacher, loving mother, sister and friend.
Surviving are son, Randall S. (Kelli) Smith, of Woolrich; daughter, Sandra S. (Terry) Ritter, of Williamsport; and a sister, Olive M. McGuire, of Lancaster.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Clifford L. "Ted" Smith in 1970; her siblings, Paul C. Watson, Viola M. (Watson) Schrode, Hugh B. Watson, William Watson and Verina "Babe" Watson.
A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 47 Rest Haven Drive, Lock Haven, PA 17745 with the Rev. David Fishel officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's name to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
