United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. The first program for the fall will be held Sept. 10 when the Rev. Larry Waltz, president of the Blooming Grove Historical Society, will discuss the history of the Underground Railroad in the Blooming Grove area. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 570-322-1110 to help the caterer know how much to prepare.
