Mary J. Wagner, 73, of Jersey Shore, passed away Sept. 2, 2014, at ManorCare, Jersey Shore.
She was born February 26, 1941, in Loganton, the daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Waltman Jameson. Mary attended school at the former Sugar Valley High School in Loganton.
She married Jack C. Wagner on October 8, 1960, and they would have observed their 54th wedding anniversary this year.
Mary retired in 2010 from the former Jersey Shore Police Department and the current Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department and the Jersey Shore Borough, where she provided custodial care for over 27 years. On Oct. 4, 2010, she was awarded a resolution by the Tiadaghton Regional Police Commission for her commendable dedication and loyal service to the department. She also received a resolution from the Jersey Shore Borough.
Mary enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and was known for her fabulous pies. She also loved her dog, Teddy Bear, and was a huge Phillies fan.
Besides her husband, Jack, she is survived by three sons, Gene (Annie) Wagner and Kenneth Wagner, all of Jersey Shore and Timothy (Barb) Wagner, of Nesbit; one daughter, Gail (Marvin) Brown, of Dushore; one stepson, Dennis (Rosie) Wagner, of Linden; two brothers, Albert (Bertie) Jameson, of Kellysburg and Richard (Beverly) Jameson, of Jersey Shore; along with two sisters-in-law, Kathy Jameson and May Johnson. There are 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Russell Jameson.
Mary's Life Celebration will begin with a visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with services to follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Mountain Cemetery, Loganton.
