DANVILLE - Cynthia Correll, M.D., has joined Geisinger Medical Center as a neurologist specializing in the treatment of epilepsy.
A 2008 graduate of the Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Conn., Dr. Correll served as a clinical instructor in neurology at Columbia University, New York City, where she was a postdoctoral epilepsy clinical fellow the past two years. She completed both a residency in neurology in July 2012 and an internal medicine internship in July 2009 during her time at Columbia. She was a research associate in the UCLA Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory from Oct. 2003 to Aug. 2004.
She published a study this year titled "Seizure management in the elderly." In 2013, she published two studies, one on antibodies in epilepsy and another on pharmaceutical therapy of partial-onset epilepsy. And she previously researched seizure awareness among epilepsy patients
Correll is board certified in both neurology and epilepsy.
