The Bullfrog Brewery and Restaurant
at 229 W. Fourth St., along with its
upstairs apartments, briefly were evacuated about 8:15 p.m. Thursday when a small fire
was discovered in the basement, according
to fire officials. Smoke was pouring from
basement vents when firefighters arrived.
“It was quickly extinguished” with two portable fire extinguishers, one fireman said of the fire. In this photo, firefighters inspect one
of the basement vents. The cause of the fire
was under investigation. All patrons and tenants were allowed back in the building
within 30 minutes.
