Downtown is tired and depressed. Clear out old and support new, but this city’s refusal to promote growth because they think historic promotes vitality is ridiculous. Sure Williamsport was a big town back when, but I am not sure if they noticed but the money is gone. So lets just build another hotel that runs at less than 25% occupancy and build another parking garage and call it a day…

Downtown Williamsport is dead, there is nothing but closed business and specialty shops. Maybe Kohl’s will re-spark growth and commerce, I doubt it though. People complain that the 10 miles to the mall is just too far (get over yourself), now they will complain about parking and prices. Remember when they moved all the stores out of down town and pushed them to the mall? Killed the commerce, I applaud the cities attempt to bring it back, but a department store was not the way to start…

Kohl's expensive? A luxury? A dollar store down town? A grocery store next to wegmans? Are you on crack? If you think kohl's is expensive then you are obviously not their target income and need to accept that no one wants a low income store, a dollar general, as a down town anchor store.

we have a kohls here where i live and i dont shop there either. TOO EXPENSIVE even when things are on sale. Kohls in williamsport should never have been built because most of the people in that area except college university people, cant afford such luxury. a target a dollar store or a less expensive grocery store, or even a small walmart would have been nice... but, money tallks bullcrap walks i guess.
