I choose A & B. (Sun-Gazette... you seriously need to offer better survey options)

PS. For those who chose option D, don't you think some of those people currently working within the state store system would open their own liquor stores and be better off for it? Or do you think they are mindless drones who only know how to work for the state?

Art - No, most won't open their own stores. Working for the government doesn't foster a sense of independence. They wouldn't know the first thing about self-employment.
Wow. 39% of S-G readers think something that is in place everywhere else in the country "won't work," and think that something that will result in more sales at more locations will "cost jobs." Scary.

Wow, jeff33... just a little xenophobic today are you? Also, please enlighten me on how you know the plan is for folks from India to own all the liquor stores. Are you Mister Inside Information Man? It must be awesome to be you! :-)

I don’t think any government should own a business, whether federal, state or local. Up to this point no government in the U.S. has shown us as citizens that they are capable of running a business successfully. I think the postal service is a great example of that. if they run it like they run the liquor licenses as they do now it could work in the private sector. Give out some many “state store” licenses into each county and highest bidder wins. Just my opinion.

The Government has never been proven to run a business successfully. Why is the Government even in any business??? Answer:...They want to make money. They fleece the business and then run it into the ground. They are doing it to the USPS and Health care is next.
If this were a privately owned business it would have went under years ago, instead we as taxpayers keep it a float. It baffles me how a business that monopolizes a product is unable to pull a profit

The State stores are a huge employer. They can control the sale of liquor to minors. If it is in grocery stores and gas stations, it is so much easier to obtain it and abuse it.
