Cutters offer exchange for Outlaws ticket

The Williamsport Crosscutters have announced a ticket exchange program for fans of the now defunct Williamsport Outlaws hockey team.

Anyone with tickets to the canceled Jan. 21 Outlaws game can exchange them for free tickets to the Crosscutters season opener on June 18 at Bowman Field vs. State College.

“We feel bad for the sports fans of the area, especially those who purchased tickets for the January 21 game that wasn’t played when the team announced they were leaving town,” said Cutters spokesman Gabe Sinicropi.

“We simply want to step up and show sports fans in the Susquehanna Valley that we’re here and we care. For the past 15 years the Williamsport Crosscutters have provided the area with fun, affordable family entertainment. We take that job very seriously, both for our fans and our advertising and promotional partners,”?said Sinicropi.

Fans can exchange Outlaws tickets dated Jan. 21, 2013 anytime between now and June 18 at the team’s box office at Bowman Field. Exchanges are subject to availability with a limit of two per person and they may not be redeemed over the phone or online.

The Outlaws of the Federal Hockey League folded on Monday. FHL?commissioner Don Kirnan told The Associated Press the Outlaws had about a $250,000 operating loss, but a positive economic impact on the area.

The team and non-profit group that operated the rink built on Bowman Field has also left behind unpaid utility bills totaling more than $36,000.
